In conventional hydraulic injection Moulding Machine, AC Asynchronous motor is used to drive fixed displacement hydraulic pump. Intelligent hydraulic proportional valves are used to control flow & pressure of the machine. Since pump motor keeps on working continuously, it consumes more energy. In hybrid injection moulding machine, Servo motor driven internal gear pump is used in place fix displacement hydraulic pump. During machine operation servo motor precisely controls flow & pressure of hydraulic system as per machine controller requirement. When flow & pressure demand from machine controller is not there, motor stops. Hence energy saving to the tune of 17% to 65% is possible as compare to conventional injection moulding machine.
Winder winds the material onto core or shaft. Similarly Unwinder releases the material from the roll to further process. In unwinding application, motor works in braking mode while in winding application, motor works in motoring mode. Because of it's ability to control speed & torque in smooth manner, servo motor is extensively used for winding & unwinding application.
In many applications, point to point positioning is required. Servo motor is capable of carrying out point to point moves. Magtor drives has dedicated firmware for point to point positioning. Positions & trajectory parameters can be stored in the drive memory & selected from either Digital inputs or fieldbus command.
